Herbal Sitz Bath
Sitz baths are a great herbal tool! From diaper rash to postpartum, infections, hemorrhoids, fissures, and more. If you’ve got a little pain or funk in the trunk try it! Just follow the steps below!
Bring water just to a boil and pour it over the herbs in a heat-safe glass jar or pitcher. Cover and allow the herbs to steep for about 5 minutes, letting the plant medicine infuse into the water.
While the tea is steeping, prepare a basin with enough warm water for the child to sit comfortably. Strain the herbs and pour the tea into the basin, using about 1 liter of tea for every 5 liters of bath water. The final temperature of the bath should feel gently warm, around 98–99°F (37°C).
Have the child sit in the bath for about 8 minutes. Keep their upper body clothed and their feet warm with socks so the body stays cozy while the herbs do their work.
After the bath, gently dry them off and dress them in warm clothing.
This bath can be offered once daily until the rash settles.
